Messy outside by pump. Chinese food all over the gas pump

The visit to this Mobil location was average. However, I was very nervous because of the people hanging around in their parking lot -- some homeless people who were clearly intoxicated or under the influence and a woman hanging outside the store who was asking weird questions that made me feel like she was trying to distract us to possibly have someone who was with her steal our wallets, money, etc. While my brother went to the bathroom, I watched the car from inside the store. I've never had this experience at any gas station I've been to in the U.S., Canada, or abroad -- we are serious road trippers since childhood, so for me to say this is the only gas station I've ever felt nervous at is a huge deal. The staff was great, the gas and drinks were fine, but there's clearly an issue that needs addressing: security in the parking lot and store.
