Each time I go to Luby's I remember how good it can be and yet for the past several years I've been consistently disappointed. Still, I return from time to time in hopes that things have turned around. This time I was choosing a central location for several of my friends to meet. And I know that Luby's has enough variety that everyone could find something they would like. No one else commented on their meals but I was quite disappointed in the speed of the service (or rather the slowness of service) and I suspect that the other friend who had to wait for her food was probably as disappointed. The line was moving very slowly for 1:15 in the afternoon and by the time we reached the check out my food was already cold. Not just not hot, but actually cold cold. Colder than my salad. Seriously, it seemed that my broccoli had just come from the refrigerator. I had to wait for my half serving of fried fish and one of my other companions had to wait for her tilapia. We waited approximately 20 minutes and had finished our side dishes before the fish were delivered. My fish was not hot though it was a little above room temperature, which was a bit on the chilly side. Just looking at my friend's tilapia it did not appear to be fresh from the broiler. Despite the slowness and the consequent temperature problems the food was good and I know I would have really enjoyed the meal if only it had been hot. I did not see anyone who appeared to be management in the time I was in the restaurant which was about an hour and a half in total. I know that it doesn't take 20 minutes to restock the line with any kind of fish. Had there been a manager or an expediter our fish would have been delivered within five minutes. And it would have been hot. Someone should have been pulling the line so that we would not have been cooling our food for 10 minutes before getting to a table. There should have been someone at the check out so that we did not have to wait just to pay for our food. My husband

Worst meal ever: broccoli was overlooked and turned yellow, cheese sauce was old and with the huge cheese crumbles, chopped steak as a part of a KIDS MEAL was undercooked (raw red meat inside), Mac and cheese was so mashie we couldn't picked it up with the fork.
