Old Country Buffet

We like this restaurant because everyone can usually get what they want. The roast beef was perfect but we were disappointed as they had all of the fixings out for baked potatoes but no potatoes. When we asked the meat carver about it he agreed that it was odd but said they weren't offering baked potatoes that evening. They were also out of mashed potatoes and after waiting several minutes I finally sat down with a plate of just meat and vegetables. The only thing that made it better was that when our table hostess came by to check on us I asked her about the potato issue and she went back to the buffet for me to check to see if there were any fresh mashed potatoes on the line yet. There were and she brought me some as well as some gravy!

I was a bit sad/disappointed in the food selection, in the past I've always been able to fill at least two plates & I loved the made to order steaks on the grill. Now I had to take a mini pan if I wanted steak & while the potatoes in the pan were fine, I far more enjoy putting my own on my plate along with gravy or aujus. I was unable to find anything else to go back for to justify the new higher price. I tried the chicken tortilla soup & it was watery with barely any meat in it, mostly broth with some green peppers and the tortilla strips I was able to add. That is a soup that should be thick with ample meat in it. I have never written a negative review for this place as I have always felt in the past I got plenty of choices and could always go back for a second plate but not anymore. Bring back the enchiladas, bring back the grill, & if you are planning on continuing to offer more kid friendly items then please add another area for the foods you removed to do so.

great service great food

Usually we have a great experience here but tonight they seemed to have trouble keeping the buffet stocked. The dessert area was nearly empty each time I checked, the ice cream machine was broken so there wasn't any vanilla ice cream for the Root-beer Float my husband planned to make & they ran out of tea on one side. Our daughter wanted cotton candy but sadly the guy delivering it never made it to the inner area of the restaurant so only children sitting on the outer perimeters of the dining area were offered & given the treat. He went to that same area four times while we were dining & there were several children sitting in our area. I don't know if they were short staffed but I do know that if they are going to have family night every Thursday they need to do a better job stocking the buffet & sending out more than one server with Cotton Candy.

Nice buffet, great selection of food. The dining area and food areas were very clean. The staff was was very personable, friendly and helpful. I don't generally care for buffet restaurants however I would return and recommend this one.

I enjoyed the home cooked sides, but none of the other food tastes good. Not a great atmosphere either
