Red Roof Inn Toledo -Maumee

Great place!!

The people are very nice, but the room is very shoddy.

It would be nice if the comforters had duvet covers

Upon checking in at 3 am, we were told there were absolutely no discounts available i.e. AAA, Golden Buckeye, etc because it was the weekend. The clerk then suggested we take a newly remodeled room in next building, which we did. We didn't expect lavish furnishings but a small coffee maker would have been nice. We were disappointed - doubtful if we'll stay again.

I called to make reservation and asked for a ground level room due to my grandfather not being able to climb stairs. When checking in, I was given a 2nd floor room and no elevator. I complained about this and it cost me $20.00 extra per night to get a ground room handicap room! I was furious.

I had been told at previous Red Roof Inn's I stayed in that we could request a fridge, since I need to keep medicine refrigerated. We requested that on our online reservation. When getting here, we were told that that is a deluxe room and cost more, plus was on the 2nd floor. Since I am in a wheelchair, the second floor is not an option, also considering we did not authorize that. We agreed to the set price. Then when getting to the room, it has a mini fridge anyway. So we feel like we were being taken advantage of. Also, the room we were put in smelled horrid and after about 15 minutes in there we were getting physically ill. We called and they did put us in another room. It wasn't much better, but not as bad. They did not clean the room, fix the beds or give us clean towels when we were out, even though we requested this to be done. There are quite a few gnats flying around that are extremely annoying. Cannot find exactly where they are coming from, but you get rid of a few and a few more take their place. Just seems very unclean. Very unhappy with the noise outside, people hanging around talking, laughing, drinking for hours. The are not staying at the hotel, just hanging out in the parking lot. A little intimidating to 2 females alone. We decided not to go out for dinner tonight because of them. Will certainly not return here to stay when we return in the spring.
