Annoyed by the high parking fees just to visit

The dining opportunity at Grove Park Inn is excellent. My family and I greatly enjoyed the chance to enjoy their dinner buffet. It was a good place to celebrate my recent engagement.

Visited for the gingerbread house event. Definitely will look for an opportunity to go back for a stay

We were told that we were allowed to bring our dog into the hotel. However upon entering, the clerk greeted us and said we were not allowed to have our dog unless we were a guest, then left without a chance for us to say we were guests. He made the door clerk force my wife to walk back all the way to the car in the cold to put the dog away. It was completely dissatisfying because we were told differently, and we were not treated like guests.

Love to visit and look around. Parking is too expensive. It is such a lovely place, great location and beautiful views.

This is my second visit to GPI and it wasn't a pleasant experience. I booked a premium mountain view room. Because GPI overbooked themselves I was put in a room that was not premium. This room did not have a view, the paint was chipping off of the walls, there was rust in the bath tub and there wasn't any counter space for me to get ready in the bathroom. I was upgraded to a suite once the manager admitted to me that the room I was in wasn't premium. The front desk associate could have offered me a discount or told me that there weren't any premium rooms available when I checked in instead of putting me in a room that wasn't up to par for GPI and hoping I didn't say anything. While the suite is a very spacious room the closet doors are not on the tracks, the baskets in the bathroom that hold the towels are broken. I definitely expect more from this establishment and from a place where I'm paying $300 a night for a room. I've stayed in Holiday Inns that were nicer and more up to date than GPI. The atmosphere of the great hall and the gorgeous views will bring me back. But I may stay in a hotel downtown instead.
