Steak 'n Shake

good service, terrible food. dry burgers, and cold fries

Ordering through the drive thru took us 20 minutes to get our order. Not including the time the staff made us wait to order our items

The service take a long time to wait for a table, get my order, bring food and we order 2 shakes and the waitress was so honest and she said that she felt terrible about to bring the shakes like that, all melted. They charge me at the end more than the food we order.

sat down at 18:45, got cold fries, hamburger were dry and barely warm at 19:38 ! other people got there after us and got served before us. another 5 minutes and we, 6 adults would have walked out. I suggested in& out burgers instead, but they wanted that nasty place. I will post our terrible experience on Facebook and instagram. WE'LL NEVER NEVER RETURN THERE AGAIN.

We usually love Steak 'n Shake but we will not return to this location. It took a ridiculously long time to get our food. One of our kids had ordered a chili cheese dog and I saw it up in the window under heat lamps at least 15min before the rest of the food was ready. By the time we got it the chili had soaked through the bun making it almost impossible to eat. Then the hot dog was completely dried out from sitting under the heat lamp so long. They did remake it but seeing it was for a kid it should have been done quicker. By the time he got his food the rest of us were done. Then we ordered shakes to go and waited at least 20min and never got them. We finally just got up and left after seeing someone else's shakes sit in the window for a good 5-10min just melting away.

We arrive at 7:32 and were immediately seated by the hostess but no waitstaff acknowledged us. At 7:47, I went to the to-go counter to order there so we could leave. The manager assured me someone would come. At 7:51, the manager himself took our shake orders (still no water at our table or food order taken. 7:54 food order taken by curt -- excellent 8:05 water brought!!! 8:10 food came 8:23 asked about shakes to another waitstaff. Told they were coming 8:27 shakes arrived by curt who then brought to-go cups at my request bc we were long finished with food Manager did comp our shakes but truly we saw a family of six leave bc they were never waited on, as well as a family of three and a family of four. Also, three more families left without being seated bc no hostess ever greeted them. Something was 'off' that night and I understand that can happen but waitstaff can simply say, "I'll be right with you" or just apologize for the excessive wait. Neither of these things happened.

I was so disappointed by my experience! We entered the restaurant very happy to eat and enjoy some Steak 'n Shake and they told us that they were out of shakes, chicken strips, American cheese, ranch, and various other items that are important to have when eating at this place. We left feeling very upset and I cannot believe that they were out of such important things.

They took a half a hour to bring drinks was out of all kinds of food the service was bad and very rude.... Sad because we alway go there and one time can make you not want to go back!!!!
