Steak 'n Shake

I took my 9 year old twins out to dinner there before we went Halloween costume shopping. It was a preplanned visit. The restaurant was very busy. We waited about 10 minutes for a booth. Our server took our order. The order was accurate and brought to us in a timely manner. My son's drink was refilled shortly after we ordered. Our waitress, however did not follow up to see if I would like more when I was out. My son needed a box for his leftovers. This was the most frustrating part of what was a nice visit. After our waitress brought our food to us, she also left our bill on our table and really did not check on us again. I waited an extra ten minutes after we were done trying to get her attention for the box. Service does not end when the food has been served; it ends when the customer has completed their meal and is ready to leave. The staff were working pretty hard, but no one was working as hard as the manager. He was bussing tables, serving food, and pretty much everything else. We did get one kids meal free which I really appreciated. Also, I used a coupon for a free fountain drink. I will come back again.
