Shari's

WE HAVE EATEN HERE BEFORE BUT SINCE OUR LAST VISIT (SEVERAL MONTHS AGO) PORTIONS HAVE BEEN DRASTICLY REDUSED, TO THE POINT THAT AFTER DINNER WE WERE TEMPTED TO GO BY MCDONALDS. These small potions were served on the standard plates making it look even worse. We are not big eaters and do not go out for dinner often, but Shari's is off the list. I suggest the individual that thought this up take their family out to Shari's and see how bad this really is.

We found that shari's café club card is partly a scam. Every time we are notified by e-mail that at our next visit (even within the correct dates), that we never as yet been able to receive the item. They are always OUT OF THEM. Two of the items were a sweet roll and the last one was the jar of jam worth 6 dollars. We overlooked a few of them , but it still seems to be the case, so we feel you are advertising an item to card holders just to get them to come. We are going to cut up are card as we feel you are not following up with your promises.

Wait for 15 minutes to be seated, and another 10 before waiter came by!

First off menu says breakfast served all day but limited menu for breakfast choices. Waitress brought us breakfast menu to choose off of. Ordered a BMP omelette and had to pay an extra $1.29 for the mushrooms. This was not explained as a extra charge. Then it's free pie Wednesday and we had to pay an extra $1.00 because they say we ordered gourmet pies and not classic pies,nowhere did we see this explained that it would be extra. Our waitress was unaware of this also. Very unpleasant experience and will not be going to Sharis again. We have been going for years !! Not anymore.

I ordered bisqicks and gravy with one egg and two slices of bacon. The egg, bacon and gravy was fine, but the bisqicks were so hard I had to press very hard to cut them , they were baked to long or very old . I ate them and left after paying my bill. I have had bisqicks and grave there before and it was very good but not this time.

There were three in our party. One person found a hair (long ) in the sandwich and it was cold next person had fish and chips, the fish was not cocked long enough and was soggy in the center, third order was nachos, the cheese was cold and had been sitting under the heat lights to the point the chips were soggy on the center of the plate and the cheese was crispy and had to be cut with a knife. The first person ordered a milk shake and was to be served ahead of the meal ... it arrived half way through the meal and had melted to a liquid We have been very loyal to this neighborhood sharis but this was a poor experience. We arrived at 7 pm (to avoid the rush) the building was almost empty so no excuse for any of this.

requested prime rib "med rare". order was prepared "med well-well" Poor cut of meat. 40-45% fat.

Tues soup of choice was bean with ham I think. We don't eat pork and the waiter said the alternate was loaded potato soup. I chose that, but he returned and said they were cooking a fresh pot of the loaded potato soup and it wasn't finished yet, but they had some squash soup. I agreed to the squash soup because I like squash and have had that soup before. When it arrived, the bowl was 1/2 full, soup very thick, not soup-like, and warm but not hot and salty, like it was concentrated. At checkout, I reported this to the manager. He apologized but didn't offer any compensation.

My server was great in every way. However the salad was wilty and tasteless and the portion size very small and the price way too high for such a small portion. I will not order a salad frim Shari's my next visit.
