Shari's

i had a quiche lorraine and there was a piece of hard plastic from the packaging imbedded in-between the quiche and cheese. I brought it to to the attention of our server and received a discount from our bill. we never saw the manager.

I have been to this Shari's numerous times. My friend and I really like it. Annie has been our server quite a few times. She is an awesome employee! The restaurant appeared to be understaffed today and it took a long time to get our order, drinks, etc. We were watching Annie rush around, "wearing many hats." It didn't seem right that she was so busy and overworked (taking orders, answering phones, seating people, etc.) My friend and I commented how she was still so polite and smiling even despite being shorthanded and way overworked. Annie is an exceptional employee and you are lucky to have her!

on my visit on Monday 2/27 I order an omelet with just egg whites. Due to a medical condition that i suffered during the weekend I was put on a special diet by my doctor. When I received the bill I noticed that I was charged an additional 99 cents for the egg whites. I feel that this is discriminatory to elderly and disabled people on a fixed income. I complained to the manager and he said that it was beyond his control and this was the headquarters decision. I have been to other well known restaurant and ordered omelets with egg whites and they do not charge additional money.

I was just surprised at how small thesteak was with this meal as compared to other visits. it was very tiny. I was in too much of a hurry for an appointment to make an issue of it but it was shockingly small.

I ordered the "senior" Egg Benedict with the fresh fruit option. Everything was well prepared, & mostly tasted good EXCEPT: the way it was plated the hollandaise sauce ran over into the lettuce & fresh fruit, & the fruit juice ran into the English muffin, which interfered with its crispness. I know it would take another dish, but it would be so much better to have the fresh fruit on a separate plate.

The restaurant was empty, there were two greeters at the register, yet it took close to 5 minutes to be seated. One greeter told us, upon our arrival, 'Be right with you!' yet proceeded to chat with a fellow staff member. The other greeter kept glancing up at us without any acknowledgement or smile. Caught the eye of what appeared to be a manager and asked if we could be seated please, we were very hungry. Finally got seated. Once we decided, we set our menus aside (universal language for 'we are ready to order), made eye contact with the waitress passing back and forth (same greeter who didn't even acknowledge our arrival) but she continued to ignore us. Flagged the same manager down and asked if we could order. She wrote our order down on a coaster. Waitress/greeter who had been ignoring us finally delivered our food, that was the ONLY time she acknowledged our presence the entire visit. Very disappointing because I used to frequent this particular Shari's on a regular basis and have always been very happy. This visit I was made to feel like I was a giant annoyance to everyone working there.

My food was cold and my orange was dried up

I ordered sourdough toast and your sourdough bread does not taste like sourdough bread. The amount of jam given for the toast is too small.

My turkey dinner was to come with green bean casserole and it came with skinny string beans that were overly seasoned with rosemary. My food came out over 5 minutes before my husbands and was luke warm at best. The turkey tasted freezer burnt. My husband ordered the prime rib dinner which was to come (as stated in advertisement) 1/2 price on the wine. (we called ahead to this south side restaurant and was told yes we would get 1/2 price bottle of wine, we also checked the north side Shari's and was told the same). When we asked our server prior to ordering we were told that their registers were not able to bill out the wine at 1/2 price. We spent $48.98 on our meal and left a $9 tip because we liked our server. We may go back for breakfast (something easy) but not so likely to go back for lunch/dinner. Our main reason for going to Shari's was due to what was advertised.

The French fries ordered with our meal were forgotten. When I mentioned it, he apparently put in an order. Actually we were almost finished and i was going tell him to forget the fries. By the time the fries arrived we were done with the meal. We ate some and left most of them. I was surprised that no offer to adjust price since the fries were so late.
