Shari's

The soup was much too salty. I was told it comes this way in advance. In this day and age, I think serving low or no salt foods would be best (some people even have salt-restricted diets). I believe other spices can make up for the "need" for salt.

Out of Oatmeal breakfast, my reason to visit. Ordered something else, asked for "crisp" bacon, it came "rubbery". Manager applied a credit.

The restaurant had few customers. It took a long time to receive our meal. Our waitress never stopped by to ask us how our food was or if we needed anything.

The oil the fish and chips were fried in was very old or rancid. This results in very foul tasting food. This is the first time we have eaten bad food the Shari's in Olympia.

We are new to this area, moving from Oregon. Sharis in Garden Home SW Portland was always stellar. Here the server called both us "dear". We are old enough to be her grandparents. Addressing us in that manner is suitable for a neighborhood bar, not food service. The manager never stopped by our table even though the place was far from busy. The setups were incomplete. One was missing the fork. My wife's french toast was cold when delivered and my prime rib was lukewarm and under cooked to my request.

breakfast steak was VERY chewy/tough

Items on the menu were not available, but none of that was disclosed until you ordered it. We had to flag down the waiter ro order dessert, only to find they did not have that kind of pie available, no matter what the menu said.

The waitress did not write our order down. Usually that is no big deal, but when she brought us our food the bacon we ordered for our hamburger was not on it. My husband had to wait for the bacon while his burger got cold. She didn't even comp the bacon. She also brought sausage instead of bacon for my son's breakfast meal.

Twice now at Sharis in Lacey at different locations was understaffed, had to wait some time for seating. This time part of our meal was not delivered and we had to ask for it. Tried to order pie for dessert, had to try several ties to find pies in stock and wanted to take a pie home but again not available. Have never had such poor understaffed esperience and have never had the experience of a number of pies not available.

Ordered take out sirloin steak, medium well. I made sure the employee understood medium well - however he entered order on a different terminal and it appears that the instructions were not entered correctly or not cooked correctly. Because this was a take out order, didn't discover the steak was medium rare until I got home. I wanted a baked potato but at 6pm, they were out of baked potatoes. We frequent this Shari's regularly and are usually very happy with the value, food and service -- this visit was an exception.
