It was a very cold day so I asked to be seated in a warm area where two tables were available; but not cleaned yet. Hostess took me back to cold area near the door, where I refused to sit and waited for another table. Waitress went through the words with no emotion or eye contact. Sesame salad had crumbles of blue cheese in it which did not go together. they were out of Marionberry Pie and Cherry pie I ordered, crust was not flaky at all, waitress did not offer to warm up pie and waitress or clerk did not inform me that I was eligible to purchase a slice of pie for $1, as it was National Pie Day and I am a Cafe Cub Member as noted on my receipt. Disappointing visit this time.

Arrived ~11:30pm Sat 1/21 for late night dinner, stood in lobby waiting to be seated over 10 minutes, while cashier was processing single checks for large party. We were never greeted nor acknowledged until much later. Waited a long time for drinks, place order and food to be served (~1 hour). Waiter was polite and apologetic, but unable to do anything to resolve it. Appeared that entire restaurant was dysfunctional. This is not the first time this has happened, but definitely the worst service received in all the years we've been patronizing this Castro Valley, CA store. Not sure if this is a staffing issue, but this is unacceptable!

What has happened to this Shari's. Your breakfast menu use to have specials NOW JUST HIGH PRICES! My wife and I have another home in Spokane and that Shari's is doing very well. We go out to eat almost every day. We use to stop by Shari's once a week. A few months ago we noticed a big decline in your quality of food and value. We haven't been back for a couple of months and decided to see if you had improved. Answer NO!. Also appears the crew we use to see has left. When do you plan to close this location?

Our waiter "Tony" was very attentive in taking our order and serving us coffee but it went south from there. The restaurant was not super busy - and others seated in the area - whose orders were taken much later than ours were served in less than 15 minutes. With breakfasts being served all day - our order was not exceptional or complicated. When served - it was clear that our food had been under a heat lamp for quite some time - edges of the pancakes were curled up - potatoes and eggs room temp - cheese on eggs clearly had been "sitting" there for a while, likewise - toast edges were "dried" out from being under a heat lamp. Tony didn't check to see if everything was alright. We had to call him over to get the Tobasco sauce. Meanwhile - he could be heard apologizing to others who ordered after us - and were served in record time. While the "quality" of the food itself is good - the "service" and the "temperature" of the food when it was served to us did not do it justice. Again - tables and booths on the other waiters side of the place were well tended to. All we could think was - we aren't going to be coming back anytime soon nor will we recommend the place. The waiter in Castro Valley, CA Sever # 341926 named Amanda. On a late night my friends and I went to Sharis and We all got up to eat and i witnessed this women get really animated with another employee and later slandered his name with costumers and laughed about it. I didn't think this was professional at all I hope that this women gets written up or something because that's not okay. Since then I've been at Sharis twice and I've seen her every time being very loud and rude to her co workers.

Our server that night was great. He was a young boy whom I believe did great for his age. It was the ladies at the front who did not greet at all. The salad I chose from the menu showed olives and larger pieces of chicken. The size portions of meat were so small which made me very upset. Overall, please ask the ladies up front to smile more frequently and make their guest feel more welcomed. Thank you, Gracie

I ordered NY Steak. It took forever to come, and did not appear until I asked waiter to check on the order. When it came it was not very hot, so it must have been sitting in kitchen after being cooked for long time. Quality of meat was poor: obviously a poor cut, not worth the $16+ I paid. (And it was the 2nd most expensive steak on the menu.) ------ While paying at the cash register, I noticed that the floor of the area behind the counter has lots of trash...definitely a hygiene issue for a food place. I hate to imagine what it is like in the kitchen, if an area visible to customers look like that. (Maybe I should have called the county health dept.)

Took too long to be greeted and seated. Drink refills were forgotten by waitress. Food and service have totally declined over the last 18 months. Management oversight is missing. Wait staff is not as professional nor friendly as before.

It took to long (1) to be greeted (2) to be seated (3) to get a menu (4) to be recognized by a server (5) to be recognized at the cash-register desk when I was waiting to pay the bill. No more baked potatoes--ran out. Only one soup (cream of spinach)--ran out. No mints--I didn't ask. Had to asked for butter (for the roll), had to ask for ketchup (for the French fries), had to ask for A-1 Sauce (for the steak). Forgot to ask for a steak knife, didn't bother to ask for tartar sauce (for the salmon). There were 2 in our party. A free piece of pie goes so far) 0--
