Shari's

We expected fast service since it was early and not many customers present. It took much too long for our food to arrive.

I never received waters to my table. The nachos I ordered were nothing like the picture and the flavor was yucky.

Shari's has a virtual monopoly in its area to serve guests at the surrounding hotels. Unfortunately, the restaurant was understaffed to the point where the greeting and seating process was subpar. This was not due to the hostess, but she was assigned a variety of tasks in addition to her hostess duties. It was she who gave us our drinks, desserts, and check. The manager took our order. Other waitresses refreshed our drinks and delivered tepid food. We never learned who our anchor waitress was. If the hostess was not so attentive, we would still be sitting there.

Server didn't seem to want to wait on us. Nachos and Mozzarella sticks were limp. Chocolate milk shake was watered down and took too long. We didn't see the server for 20 minutes , had to finally go up and get our check from a different server.

My dinner was over cooked and did not include items that were listed on the menu. Manager was extremely rude! Asst Manager Monty was awesome though.

The food took a long time to arrive even though the restaurant did not seem that busy. I had to ask a food server when our meal would be ready (we sat for about 15 minutes with no one aware of our presence). After 10 minutes, our server should have made some contact with us telling us that our "food would be up shortly" but she never made the effort. My wife needed a to-go container for the rest of her meal. When asked to bring one when she had a moment, she said, "OK," and then did nothing. Minutes went by, I saw her walking around doing nothing in particular and I finally had to ask another server for the box who got it for us. The food was standard fare; nothing special, and WAY overpriced. I attend this restaurant about once per year and I was reminded at this visit why that's the case. The service is usually lousy and the food is always overpriced.

The steaks were small. The flavor of the steak was disappointing. One steak was cooked as ordered one was overdone. The garlic toast and onion rings listed on the menu were not delivered with the meal. When requested it took a long time to get very small pieces of one-side only toasted bread but not onion rings. Refill drinks took a long time to come. When we mentioned the missing food items the person (not our waiter) who we assumed was the manager said they were short staffed due to not being busy earlier, and then were hit with lots of customers yet the area where we were seated only had 3 or 4 tables filled. Then she said they had a new cook and that was why items were missing but we feel the waiter should have caught that. For the price of the meal we felt it was mediocre at best and were sorry we had ordered the Surf and Turf.

My meal came out on a refrigerated, cold plate, making the mashed potatoes inedible. I told the waitress and she laughed it off, not offering to fix it.

Restaurant did not seem that busy but it took approx 5 min. To be seated 10 min for waiter to come to take order, 10 min to return after I asked a question on menu, 15 min for order to come, 5 min to ask if I was finished, 5 min for waiter to return with Bill and another five for cashier to take my payment.

Server did not know the pie of the month offer for December. I had to explain it was the cheapest pie. I bought the peach pie for $10 and was not offered the bag to put the pie in. I questioned this, because in the past I always got that. The server said it was only if 2 pies are bought. The pie itself was too hollow. Not any better than a $5 Walmart pie. I will never buy from Sharis again.
