Shari's

Coffee cup dirty. Hair on plate. No paper towels in men's room. I was given a $4.30 reduction on my bill due to the hair on my plate. This particular Shari's was one of my favorite restaurants when I lived in Lynden in the 1990's. I now live in Everson. In the 20 some years, the restaurant in my opinion has deteriorated. Over all, I would say it was not as clean not was the food as appetizing. But, the food and service were as good or better.

There was hair in the food.

Tater tots were ordered, French fries were served. Prime rib dip (not philly style) was ordered, philly style was served.

ordered the new breakfast special with the New York steak which was so tough that the steakknife even had a hard time cutting it. Fortunately do not have false teeth.

It was unusual for me to see the cook doing the waitresses and the hosts job. The waitress Melissa who took my order did absolutely nothing was called about four times to pick up my order and was chatting away heard but did not listen which then the cook brought me my food. The gentleman working which I believe may have been the manager was very unprofessional, has no customer service skills whatsoever . If it wasn't for the Coke I wouldn't of gotten my food nor would I have gotten my check, other waitress that was on site was doing the work for three. It was a gong show as far as I'm concerned .

We ordered breakfast at dinner time. Not a lot of selections on the menu. Food was BLAND! We ordered our hash browns extra crispy and the were not even close. Order the banana dream pie and the bananas were brown, crust was mushy. Had pancakes and one side of them was over cooked which made them crunchy on one side and soggy on the other. Eggs on both of our orders were not right. The edges were very hard to cut through. Neither order of eggs had been salted or peppered. We both ordered sodas and they were not refilled. Portions of food for the price seemed small compared to other places in town.

We stopped going to Sharis over a year ago. Food quality is marginal and prices are to high for the service and quality. We now go to Dennys next door.

One of the items I ordered was only lukewarm. After I mentioned this to the server, it went into the microwave for re-heating but was still not adequate on return.

I ordered the steak dinner to go as I waited twenty minutes the manager asked the cook how's that steak coming along the cook replied what steak? I heard all this because I was waiting at the bar in front of the grill. I patiently waited another twenty minutes for my order.

Love coming to Shari's but this time was disappointed. When I entered there were 2 parties waiting to pay and only me wanting a table. It took approx 6 min for someone to take their payments, at that point they took my name and the line of people that had formed behind me. Most tables were empty but some not yet cleaned. It seemed to me they did not have enough staff. When I received my order it seemed to just have been thrown on the plate ( no garnish as normally has) Tasted ok but overall disappointed with overall visit.
