I have been to Shari's in Bellingham several times and have always been satisfied except this last visit which is why I decided to participate in the online survey. I never log in to these surveys. It was Sunday evening and severely understaffed or just not trained staff. We had to wait awhile to be seated when we could see several empty clean tables and several dirty empty tables. The server took our order but totally forgot the side order of French fries that we ordered. The soup arrived cold, both of us ordered soup as it was a gray, drizzly evening. The server disappeared, was busy with other tables and when she came we told her what about the fries, when she told us she totally forgot about it. We were almost finished and said forget it, we didn't want to wait any longer. Although fries would have been the only thing warm. The only thing that would make us go back is the pies/dessert.

My food was overdone and burned. Service was extremely slow and since my companion was already eating, I did not complain or send my food back. When I paid the bill the lady asked how the food was, and I told her about it then. I was dissatisfied when I was not offered some kind of discount as compensation for wasting my time and money on a bad breakfeast. Despite this, I did give a generous tip, since I felt it was not the server's fault.

The portion was small and was not warm and the fruit slice was old the portion gets smaller every time I come.

I bought a coconut cream pie to go yesterday. My wife and I have bought many of these in the past and we have thoroughly enjoyed every one of them, until this one. This pie I bought yesterday was just not up to standards. I'm not sure what was wrong with it, if it had too much or too little of some ingredient in it, or if it hadn't been prepared as they usually are. At any rate, the pie was very disappointing. If the first pie I bought had tasted like this, I never would have bought another one.

The kitchen was loud!!! They yelled out the servers names when the food order were up, we were next to the kitchen and heard every word, some ones food order was returned and the cooks argued with the server and the server raised her voice, very unprofessional. The floor was dirty, look like they haven't vacuumed in a long time. We wanted to just pay for our food and get out of there!

Waitress seemed distracted and didn't follow through. Asked or ketchup and never received it. Had to request water refills x2. Took a long time to be seated, order, and receive our food. One meal was not hot, like it had been sitting waiting for the other meals to be ready.

Usually highly satisfied with service and food at this Shari's, but tonight our server was not up to usual level. Service was slow and subpar. Food was still good as usual. Will return but would rather not have this server again.

This was my second visit in the last 2 weeks. In my first visit I had a bowl of soup. It was a very small portion and I was told by the server that it was a full serving. I like soup a lot but this is not a place for soup. My second visit was for breakfast - eggs, toast, fruit. It as all served on one plate with the fruit in the grease the eggs were cooked in. The toast was swimming in butter.

Total confusion unlike visits in past. Lots of table-space available, could have seated customers to wait instead of piling up in waiting area. One cook in kitchen for a long time until two others arrived and stood at check- out while cashier spent time helping a waitress figure out a problem. No manager obvious in controlling chaos.

It started with nearly warm coffee and then it took getting the attention of a different waitress to get hot coffee. We then had to ask for new cups to drink the hot coffee. The food was served almost cold. The eggs were runny and cold. The waffles were barely warm. The waitress was not attentive to our table. I will not be returning to your restaurant. I feel ripped off for the $37.11 it cost to have this horrible dining experience.
