Shari's

While looking through the menu for vegan options, I found a fruit and avocado chicken salad. On the picture it looked like it had glazed nuts on it of some sort and the description didn't mention any bacon. I ordered it with the cheese and chicken on the side and then was surprised to find bacon on the salad.

We went in for this weekend's Sweetness of summer $5.00 off promise, which we received. However, cashier/cashier register would not allow me to use the additional $5.00 credit already on my Shari's card even though cashier recognized that card indicated the availability of that $5.00. The promotion specifically noted "Valid with other rewards and offers". Also, one quiche from another only reflects the topping on top quiche, not mixed in. Apparently basic quiche is on hand and bacon is just put on top for quiche Lorraine.

Didnt know after 10 am breakfast menu increases by 2.00. Waitress didnt mention it so they nicely charged me at before 10 am price. Also didnt know only 1 strip bacon came with meal and she brought me another strip at no cost and then explained the item I was ordering on menu and the amount of meat offered.

The servers were extremely busy. It took a long time for someone to take care of my check.

It seems it takes awhile to get our food and it's not always real hot. I realize we usually dine on a Wednesday evening and it's likely due to the busyness of the restaurant, but the food should be kept hot even though it's longer getting to the table.

The hash browns were cooked to a crisp on both sides. No potato flavor or potato left in the middle!

My salmon chowder should have been hotter. A guest ordered a "Cobb" salad, but it did not come with avocados, although the menu said avocados were on the salad. That issue was corrected, but that is the 2nd time that very error has occurred.

To be honest, I think that the flavor of both the ice cream and the marionberry pie were quite bland. I and my friend were disappointed. But we really just wanted an excuse to spend some time together and Shari's is always wonderful for that! (And we tip good!)
