Hand and Stone

No receipt for 270 paid. No explanation when asked for one.

Therapist spoke a lot about her bad experiences in massage in another state with respect to working conditions, payment etc (not about Hand & Stone). I am sorry that she went through that, but that is not conducive to my experience. I generally prefer less talk.

I was not happy when Hand and Stone changed to charging more for a deeper tissue massage. I think the therapist should assess what in needed for each client and do the correct massage to meet the needs of the client. Now I feel like I'm being upcharged for every little thing and that is not relaxing. If hot stones are needed to get the right massage then the therapist should use hot stones. There should not be an additional charge for this. If the therapist needs to use stronger pressure in one area to relieve a tight muscle there should not be a charge for this. Being nickel and dimed for everything is not relaxing at all!

I wish there was one in Santa Clarita where I live!

I am used to thai massage. So I definitely like that better. My massage therapist was nice, but talked during my massage, and I don't like that at all.

The Hand & Stone waiting area has just 4 chairs - it's not a big room. When I arrived, there were 8 of us in either the chairs or milling around. When clients would be called into their massages, there was no attempt to clean the chairs they were sitting in. When I exited from my massage, it was a zoo - at least 12 people either waiting for appointments or waiting to check in or out. They'd lean on every counter around the receptionists (not giving them the distancing at all) and the intake staff was too busy to clean those surfaces as people came and went. This made me wonder how thoroughly the staff was cleaning the rooms between massages, too. I loved my 2-hour massage and really liked my therapist (Amber) but I'll probably sit this out again for a few months until this COVID resurge starts to die down.

I was disappointed that my facial did not start on time after I made sure that I was on time. No one let me know that my esthetician was running late. She came out 8 minutes late and my facial ended 5 minutes early. It was a little disappointing. It would have been nice if someone let me know she was running late.

I arrived about 7 min early. I didn’t get called back till 11:14. I thought my therapist would make up the time after, but she finished my massage at 12:49. My step mother was taken back before me and didn’t come out till after me. We were scheduled for the same time and each for a 2 hr massage. The massage was excellent, just was a bit upset that I was cut a bit short.

I wish there was online booking. Some days the lines are busy. Can therapists wear face shields when face up? it would be safer for everyone in preventing covid. Over all i love Hand and stone. Ive recommended to friends and family because of quality service.

I’ve been a member for years here, and I feel as though the quality of massage and experience of therapists have dropped in quality over the past year. I’m assuming it’s due to covid, but the last couple massages have been less than impressive.
