I really enjoyed my experience with Hand & Stone Dan Leckie - I found that Simon was very good and did do what I asked. I unfortunately didn't feel relaxed after my massage, I left feeling like I had to correct many things(posture, shoes, stop using my right side so much, stretching). It felt like I had been to the dentist rather than for a relaxing massage.

Massage therapist (Mary was excellent) and the therapy room was great. I was not asked if I wanted any add ons to my treatment this time. The reception chair is right next to the door so it is a bit cold every time it is opened and the area seems unorganized since the hot vs cold drinks are in completely different areas and then you have the products for sale in the middle. It seemed like the choices for the locations of everything in the area including the chair were sort of at random..

Unfortunately after I left I ended up with a terrific headache and severe pain. I have never had that before with any of my visits. I had to take a day off work.

Overall the experience was very enjoyable and very good value. It was a little cool in the treatment room, though the therapist did provide warming towels. I would have preferred a warmer room. The therapists did ask what I wanted to work on, but because I am relatively a novice I really did not know what to ask for. However I did want just a relaxing massage and that is exactly what I received. My therapists did notice a medical concern and recommended a person to see, of which I will follow-up.

The only issue I had was booking the actual appointment - I had booked online and then received a call to do it over the phone instead - I booked a couple's massage for the Saturday but didn't have my credit card on me so the lady on the phone said to call back with the credit card number and the appointment would be held for us - My boyfriend called the next morning with the number but was told there was no record of the booking. He re-booked it for the Sat. I received a call on the Friday saying they had my booking in for that day, and a different one for Ian on Sunday - We had both only tried to do Sat so I don't know where that confusion came from.. It was sorted out in the end with no extra charge but a little annoying that we kept having to re-book and change our original time.

I went with another person and paid for his massage. He was cut short on his time of 50 minutes even though we were early, but the massage therapist was late and did not give him his full allotted time.

Problem at the receptionist - Angry customers complaining and yelling.

HI i really liked hand and stone spa. Everything was great upon walk in, i enjoyed the aroma therapy smells it was similar to eucalyptus or lavender, which are my favorite smells. Bed was heated which is what is great, i need to be warm. I could not get an RMT so i tried the lady that was not RMT. Her pressure was a bit too soft, felt ticklish. She was not able to feel on her own my muscle pain to fix it so i had to tell her what to do and where to put hard pressure, which she followed well, i guess if she was RMT i wouldn't have to tell her where to put pressure. We just concentrated on my back so i didn't get a full body massage which i would usually get at other places that would include my feet and scalp, I turned over to get my neck done but noticed she did not really know how to massage the neck. The time was 60min which started when i walked into the room instead of when i am ready and laying down which would take a few minutes for me to change and lay down. Other then that everything was great.

I'm used to the ritz Carlton I guess... but it was good value for the cost.
