Hand and Stone

The first thing the therapist said to me was that I had a hunchback. I think it was a cultural and language disconnect but it did not feel like a nice way to begin. She was quite good with her massage as I really needed deep tissue and trigger point work. However, several times when I indicated that hat she was doing was painful, she did not ease off with the amount of pressure. I figure that when I can feel my muscles tensing in pain, I will not get benefit from the work. I felt that she knew what I needed to address the issue I came in with but was not as responsive as she could have been to my expressions of discomfort with amount of pressure. I left feeeling like I will try another therapist who may be just as good as she was but more responsive and a bit less blunt. And I am open to using her again also. So my experience was a mixed experience. Her massage was really good but I would have preferred a gentler manner.
