Hand and Stone

I booked an 80 minute massage and took note of the actual time the RMT spent on the massage which was 70 minutes. The 10 minutes included questions, undressing, and waiting for the RMT to return. Whether this is policy or the RMT's practice, 10 minutes is quite a lot off of the time I expected for the actual massage. If this is always the case, then if I were to have a 50 minute massage, I'd only have 40 minutes. When I booked, I was told to arrive 5-10 minutes before the appointment so I would think this is the time used for preparing. If time is taken away from the 80 minute massage time for any reason, clients should be clearly made aware.

Although my therapist was very polite, professional and provided the services of which I selected and paid for... I found that the overall experience (my initial visit) was less than stellar. I felt the massage was light and the added services I requested were done in minimal time. I have only been to 1 other spa in Toronto (downtown) and I cannot compare that company exactly to this one at Hand & Stone, but the for the price differences, I found Hand & Stone's prices to be on the high end of what is actually performed/offered. As a local in the East End, I will recommend this company to others if they are seeking it and to promote continued business in our community. But I probably likely would not be rebooking on a regular basis for massage. I haven't tried the facials or other services so I cannot speak to those.

My therapist gave a great massage! My only "complaint" is that his hands were pretty shaky. When he applied pressure around my ribs with unsteady hands it made my breathing feel funny, kind of like going up a rolled coaster but way less dramatic lol. Overall it was the best massage I have received at hand and stone!

The therapist was very friendly and very good at giving the massage. I did ask some questions to the therapist which engaged in conversation, I just wished that I got some peace and quiet time. Otherwise she was great at what she does!

I've been to this location over 10 times and this was the first time I noticed how dirty the reception area was. Carpet looked like it wasn't vacuumed for a week, the glass table was very dirty with dust on top and on the base. everything else looked clean but first impressions are very important.. if this was my first visit I would have thought twice about booking, worried what the rooms might look like thank you

Mike was excellent at creating a comfortable atmosphere for my first time at Hand and Stone. He was communicative and highly skilled.

It’s was a good experience everyone was pleasant

I tried to book online but the profile I tried to create didn’t save. Something was broken with the profile creation. I tried to call several times in the morning to book the appointment time I preferred but there was no answer until after 9:20 am. Also, because I didn’t have a prescription for massage I couldn’t receive benefit reimbursement.

When I left I did not feel that I just had a massage. Did not feel that my tension was released.

The massage I received was good but did not amaze me. The therapist was very friendly, which I appreciated as they checked in often. I think a quieter environment would've helped me relax more.
