Hand and Stone

I was told I would receive a small box (showed to me at checkout) of items as a Gift with purchase. I purchased an item at $75 and then my aesthetician removed it and brought out a couple of packets of a one-time use items. I was not happy with the "bait and switch", as I would probably not have purchased anything, but I liked the idea of travel size items to try if I made a purchase. To have it taken away after I made a purchase was not OK. My aesthetician was given approval to upgrade my services prior to my appointment, which she did, as it was a very generous gift for Mother's Day and my birthday, from a friend who is a member with your location. It was a definite turning point for me. I would go to the Hand and Stone at a different location next time.

My therapist was not wearing a mask and as she was a little older I just assumed that she would not be performing a massage in a closed room with full protection. About 30 min in when I asked my massage therapist if she had been vaccinated she said she didn't believe in vaccines. If I am in a closed-off space with someone for over an hour and I find out that the reason that they are not wearing a mask, is that-it made me very frustrated. The receptionist told me the governor had lifted the mask mandate so they were not required to wear masks, but in my opinion, if Hand and Stone really cared about the safety and well being of all their customers, this would still be a requirement until the CUSTOMER expressed that they were comfortable without a mask. i had my daughter and daughter-in-law with me and neither of them has been vaccinated fully and they did not have technicians with masks either. This NEW policy in high risk states or anywhere should be explained as soon as someone walks in.

My massage therapist kept trying to talk to me about getting a membership even after I told her I don’t live in Arizona. And was talking the whole time so it was hard to relax. And didn’t apply enough pressure.

The evening and the day after my facial I had a bit of a rash on my face.

I didn’t get the aromatherapy experience I booked, and my appointment was running a little late. However, I’m satisfied overall. It wasn’t too big of an issue. Dajah was very knowledgeable and asked me questions to fully understand what was going on with my body.

Masseuse did not wear a mask. Temperatures were not taken. Pressure way too much, even after saying to lighten up. Not offered CBD, didn't use much oil/lotion.

I usually get hot towels with Tony. I will book with Tony again - I prefer his technique. The room felt too bright.

I had a gift card and entered the number when booking the appt. Because I didn’t have the barcode, the front desk was not able to use it. It was inconvenient but I still plan on returning due to the atmosphere and massage quality. I’ll make sure to bring the barcode next time.

I have severe arthritis and spine problems so I knew that it would not relieve my pain but it did help me to relax.
