I felt my massage ended early - 9 minutes before the hour. I thought we were supposed to go until 5 minutes before the hour. Also, the therapist rushed over some areas. When she massaged my neck, she was pressing too hard and I felt like I was being choked. I had to ask her to use less pressure.

The room was too cold!!! Please consider the client are naked or almost naked! My husband was so cold he couldn't enjoy his massage. He has a cold now because of the cold room. The massage tables should be pre warmed and no fans!!!!!!!!

The care and finesse of which my limbs, etc are moved and placed back into position was lacking. This would cause a bit of a jarring experience. I asked to address specific areas of my back but it was more of a general procession of massage.

I booked an appointment for myself and boyfriend for 6pm. My boyfriend was seen on-time while I waited. I also ended early and had to wait for my boyfriend to finish his appointment. I don't think it's fair that I had a shorter session that started later. Also, I told my therapist that I had a previous hand injury that sometimes bother me. I get a massage to help relieve it. He said he'll just avoid it. When I said my last therapist and previous therapists at Hand & Stone worked on it, he said that "his style is firm" and the previous therapist must have a light touch. However, the last therapist was one of the most firm pressures I have ever experienced. The whole conversation made me feel like the therapist had a lack of knowledge about the body he was about to massage. My previous therapist at the same location had excellent knowledge and completely understood how to relax and relieve my discomfort. I did not feel good spending $72 (includes tip) on this session.

My therapist was friendly enough, but more time could have been spent on my requested target areas. I also would have preferred that the therapist use her hands more. Most of my massage felt like a lot of arms and elbows which I did not really enjoy.

I feel like the facials, while relaxing, are very good, but don't really improve my skin. In fairness, I don't to them consistently. That might change the results some.

I’ve been a patron / member for a number of years now in Alameda. My therapist Amara is awesome. The only issues I experience are with booking. Often my appts aren’t saved or end up double booked. Maybe something with the reservation software? Btw, the shopping center is not ideal. Lots of car break-ins due to large homeless population nearby. Often no visible security. I never go after dark. All the surrounding fast food draws what seem like stoned/drunk people. Not really a spa-like experience. And you can smell the food through the common HVAC. I’d recommend South Shore or a stand-alone in more of a retail setting with foot traffic on Park or Webster.
