Hand and Stone

I had an excellent experience with Penella, who did my facial. I would happily have another appointment with her. I rated my experience as highly satisfied with her. Otherwise the reception area was fine, as was the front desk person. The place was clean and welcoming, though quite chilly.

Though the services were great and the therapist was wonderful I felt that the sheets, blankets and towels are in need of replacement. They feel rather worn and look tired. Also, at one time I was able to buy a moisturizing cream (body butter) that worked wonders on my dried skin, however, there is currently no such product for sale at the North Brunswick location. I would like to see something like it come back to the inventory.

Waited over 10 for massage and not the first time. Facial right on time

The masseuse sat down on a stool for the majority of my massage which I had not experienced before. It felt like she was barely applying any pressure or even focused on completing my massage.

The receptionist was having difficulty checking me out, I had a gift card and she had problems applying it to my account.

One therapist did not take into consideration of others receiving a service and speaking loudly in the hallway disturbing my session. Loud banging noises were coming from the room next door, which also disrupted my session. It should be a rule that ALL employees and customers use their inside voice, whispering, to be considered of those who are in the process of their sessions so that not to disturb the mood.

There isn’t a specific reason. Lisa was wonderful. It was just my first massage there. It takes time for you to get used to the therapist and them to get used to your body so you can progress through the massage easier. I wasn’t told on the phone when I set my appointment that there was an upcharge for deep tissue so that threw me off, but it wasn’t a big deal. I just would’ve liked to know beforehand. I still enjoyed my massage and that’s all that matters. It was much better than the horrendous experience I had at Massage Envy.

Price was misquoted

I love Hand and Stone, I just didn't really see any improvement in my pore sizes and they still seemed really dark and black (which may be my skin, and not an issue from the procedure).

Esthetician was running late.... which cut into my time for the facial because I had a massage appointment right afterwards. I was late for the massage appt - and that was cut short because the spa was closing.
