Hand and Stone

My first experience at Hand and Stone. I have been to other places that were a bit more pampering upon arrival but I don't know if they are the exception.

Did not have the body cream in stock and could not tell me when it would be coming in. This is the2nd visit in a row that the product was not in stock.

My experience is not highly satisfying but it was still satisfying. I did a couple’s massage recently and expected it to be a couple event but it was more of my boyfriend and I in the same room, away from each other.

After my facial, I felt too much pressure to buy products and sign up for membership. It was uncomfortable and made me slightly angry.

Upon arrival, the receptionist and manager were busy on the phones and with other guests. I sat down and waited ten minutes without ever being greeted. When it became 6 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, I went to the desk and asked to be checked in. (The manager was making a concerned phone call to a bill collector and I was uncomfortable being aware of the conversation.)

The ambience is more like a salon vs spa. Reception area is clean/friendly but not relaxing. As a first time guest, I felt the pressure the sell at check out to become a member.

Web request never set and requested tech and time not available They did however recommend services that were very nice and front desk was accommodating I will not use the web request in the future

Booked appointment on phone then was called back the following day and told time was not available and had to change to a different time. Appointment started 10 minutes late. Cold stone face massage was done properly, no hot towel given and cold stones were applied to neck and back. At the end of massage there were no hot towels to wipe off the excess oil.

A bit expense

Massage and therapist was excellent. However, when I received the scalp massage I would have liked to have my entire head massaged instead of only the top and sides ( I was lying on my back). I did not mention it because I thought he was going to do that. I would certainly request him again but I will speak up next time.
