Hand and Stone

I really like the set up of the whole atmosphere....

I would like to see a more variety of services available.

When booking the appointment I was put on hold a number of times and the entire process took nearly 20 minutes. While I was really satisfied with my massage and the therapist the cost on a typical day (I was using a gift card) is high without a membership.

My therapist was nice but did not talk much or introduce herself. I don't want to speak the whole massage but I didn't talk to her at all before we got started besides her instructions. She was excellent at her job and was attentive at which type of pressure to apply to the massage.

I was not very pleased with the massage therapist. She spent alot of time adjusting sheets and wasn't very gentle about it. She also kept wiping her hands on my sheet when she had too much oil on her hands. She didn't seem very experienced. The room was also way too hot. There was some sort of machine whirring so loud that I couldn't even hear the music which made it difficult for me to relax. I have had several massages in your facility that were wonderful, but this one was a disappointment.

We had a couples massage. My boyfriend loved his massage therapist; mine was ok. She was a little heavy handed but when I told her it was too much pressure, it was too soft (ineffective). Next time I book, I'd rather have his therapist. Other than that, I was satisfied.

Rooms need more decor

Construction next door was very noisy during treatment Would have preferred to be told ahead of time and arranged to come after 5pm when the crew next door left. Did not make for a relaxing experience.

I got a couples massage and the therapist my boyfriend had (Stephanie) was obviously still in training. She followed & repeated everything my therapist (Ashley) did. He was very disappointed in the massage especially because it was his first visit to any Hand & Stone.

I think Lisa is extremely friendly and talkative, but she often shares very private information about her other clients which makes me wonder if she talks about me to other people. She also talks about not wanting to be at work that day and feeling tired, which is OK but makes me feel a bit uncomfortable, like I am a burden to her for making her wax me. I think Hand and Stone ought to be a place for a very nurturing, relaxing experience. That is not always the case. If I was looking to do a facial, for example, I would look for a different, more mature and calm staff member. For doing a quick Brazilian wax, it's OK though. :)
