I had mentioned at the start of the massage that I had been running a lot recently and really wanted the massage to focus on my legs. While the practitioner was very skilled and certainly did great work, only a fraction of the time was spent on legs with far more on back, shoulders, and neck.

No one was at reception to greet us initially. And when someone did come to the desk they barely greeted us and seemed slightly confused. It was a little bit of an awkward interaction. No harm done, just didn’t feel welcoming. The receptionist who cashed us out was a little more friendly.

The monthly membership is extremely expensive. It only includes 50 minutes and you have to pay extra for added hot stone. I was not informed of this when booking. The monthly fee is more expensive then it should be for only including 50 minutes

Surprised that you were charging tips. My insurance coverage does not cover tips, and there is no option on the machine to decline tipping. Is it a new trend to ask for tips - if I am already paying for the service, why to tip on top of that?

Could have been a bit more conversation/feedback with RMT prior and during the treatment...but my experience was satisfying. Definitely will return and recommend the salon.

I love my RMT Tommy, he is the reason I always come back! I have had multiple issues however with booking online and on the phone. I have had my appointment given away and shown up to take it and been told it was given away when I confirmed via email I was coming. Among other issues.

Hi there! I was HIGHLY satisfied with my massage and always am. My concern is solely about the fact that Hand & Stone hasn't implemented more ventilation measures. The science as of 2021 is VERY CLEAR that Covid transmission through surfaces is almost impossible. Transmission happens through the air. And when people are going to be in a small room with another person for an hour or more, ventilation becomes crucial to protecting everyone's safety. I had inquired about ventilation measures previously and because of that hadn't gone back in a very long time. I did yesterday because I was in a lot of pain and I'm glad, but this remains my key concern. The space doesn't appear to naturally have a ton of ventilation and so I think this is FAR more important than extra cleaning measures. Here's one example: https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2021/02/hygiene-theater-still-waste/617939/

The massage I had was great. My issue is I am still in a lot of pain and stiff. But I don’t believe this to be a reflection on him. I think something more is nothing me so I will be going to chiro tomorrow. I still will come again. As I don’t think this was a one easy fix like I hoped for. He gave me a lot of great advice and handled my back with care. I’m just rating a little lower as I am still very sore

The receptionist on Thursday March 18 at 8PM was lovely to speak to - she recognized me, greeted me warmly and made sure everything was okay and set up at the start and end of my massage. It’s was my first time with RMT Oscar and he was great, took the time to walk me through his massage tactics and tips and tricks to avoid tension and aches with working from home/ sitting down a lot more. Another great experience at Hand and Stone on College st, thanks again.
