Hand and Stone

The manager would not allow us to use our gift cards for extra services. In the past, this was done frequently. I had to pay $50 extra for the services, which I was not expecting to have to pay. And she was somewhat rude about it no less.

The receptionist at this and my previous visit does not put me at ease due to her rushed style of speech. I feel as though she is just trying to complete the transaction as quickly as possible, even though there were no other customers waiting either time. She seems capable of doing the job but in my experience visiting another H and S location, her demeanor is not as relaxed and accommodating as what I am used to for a spa setting.

Asked to focus on neck, shoulders and back but receiveS an all over massage. It was really good but was hoping to have more focused time on my neck, shoulders and back.

Requested a firmer massage when scheduling but massage was not as firm as I would have liked

I had asked for an 80 minute massage and thought that was what I was going to receive when it ended at only 50- 55 minutes. When I asked about it, the receptionist told me, oh that was me...sorry. That was it. Disappointing!

No one was as friendly as I expected. It was my first time with Hand and stone and getting a massage in general, but no one asked if it was and expected me to know how everything worked. This were glazed over and not explained well

I booked an online appointment with Kristin only to arrive and find I had been switched to a different therapist in order to accommodate another guest. I specifically didn't book this therapist because I had used him before and wasn't satisfied.

I prefer 80 minute massages. I generally use 2 packages for an 80 minute massage. This leaves $30 leftover. I would prefer to leave this as a tip for the masseuse, but that is not an option. As such, I feel obligated to get upgrades valued at $30 to get the most out of the experience, when I really don't want it. I feel that this detracts from my overall experience.
