It was my first experience with Hand & Stone. My usual places are places I'm just very comfortable with. As I visit Hand & Stone more, I might be more comfortable and will enjoy it more.

I arrived 10 minutes prior to my appointment as instructed. Everyone else scheduled for 10 went in and after 10 minutes I asked if there was a problem. The receptionist assured me there wasn’t and 5 minutes later Gwen came out and I was informed that Stephanie hadn’t shown up. Gwen offered to do my massage and I was given the allotted time. I was disappointed that Stephanie didn’t come and not happy about the wait.

I was satisfied with my massage, therapist and the environment. Nothing personal, but I normally don't use "highly satisfied", very rare. There was one "issue" that I did not care for. I had 2 gift certificates for myself and my husband. They each were for a 50 minute massage. I booked a deep tissue and my husband a Swedish massage. Neither at the time of booking or signing in was I informed the deep tissue was more money. After the massage, as I was saying goodbye, the receptionist informed me that I owed an extra $10.00 because the deep tissue massage cost more. My husband went outside to retrieve money from our car and returned. The receptionist then told me the total due was $13. and some change … almost $14. First of all, I should have been informed that deep tissue was more money when I booked the appointment. If not, then I should have been informed when I signed in as I was a half hour early and sitting in the waiting area. It should not have been as I was walking out the door … then go from $10. to almost $14., that's a whole lot of tax. Lastly, my daughter purchased us 50 minute massage …. there should be NO other charge. Thank you.

We did not get greeted by our therapists until almost 10 minutes after the appointment. Nobody acknowledged any reason why our appointment was late or talked to us while we were waiting to get brought back to our appointments. For starting the appointment late we were not even provided a few extra minutes to catch us up on what was left because of the fact that we were not brought back to appointment ten minutes late. This was disappointing

FYI - I was using a promotional gift certificate that had to be used at this location, I usually go to the Marlton location. When I had gotten facials before there was always a hand treatment included as part of the experience - maybe thats been discontinued but I was disappointed. The technician was very nice and knowledgeable. While I was there my skin felt refreshed but after I left it just felt greasy and I seem to have more irritated areas on my skin now than I did before I went. I don't know why. She gave me a rejuvenating facial and asked me if that was ok but did not mention that there would be an additional charge for this. I found out at checkout.

My massage therapist did a great job at focusing on the areas I requested. I left feeling a lot better than I originally walked in. Staff at the desk was also friendly.
