I came to relax and the therapist kept telling me what I’m doing wrong. I slouch, I’m not drinking enough water etc. i want to relax and not be lectured. I’m stressed i am well aware.

I joined the monthly membership program in 2021 and was very satisfied with James for massages (I've had at least 4 with him). It's hard to book because I can usually only do Saturdays and he is very popular so I have to book well in advance. Last week I was unable to book James so I booked another massage therapist and was disappointed. Though she was very kind and seemed knowledgable, I did not feel I got a good massage. I had asked for a full body, Swedish-type massage, looking for relaxation. I mentioned some trouble areas (neck/shoulders). Her technique was strange, did a lot of 'poking' versus kneading, varying pressure (medium to way too light), she told me I had earned a free upgrade so I chose the CBD oil; basically she just 'applied' it to my legs and arms like lotion, not really a massage. Never touched my lower back or left arm, almost like she forgot. She talked a lot; not super relaxing. Finally when checking out I learned I did not have enough points to cover the upgrade and had to pay an additional $30. Not the end of the world, but don't like those kind of surprises. I booked James for my next appt.

high turnover of therapists ...makes me uncomfortable as i am sometimes not aware ahead of time

The therapist was very nice but talked the whole time which did not help me relax. She also mentioned a couple subjects that made me uncomfortable (religious/political) she told me all about her life. I thought she was sweet but in the future I’d prefer a quieter experience.

I was satisfied, however getting the appointment was difficult. No appointments were available for any therapist for the same month needing a massage. Finally prebooked future appointments months away.

The checkout process was not working so I could not get a final receipt for several hours from the receptionist to know how my points were used for the facial that I received.

The employees and my experience at hand and stone was great! The online booking and availability of appointments is why I plan to end my membership. Not being able to get an appointment a month out at a time that is after work during the week or on the weekend is dissapointing. Not many people have the ability to get a massage or facial at 2:30pm on a week day.

My usual therapist went home sick, so I went with what was offered. Wasn't the best massage I've ever had. I just didn't prefer her technique - it wasn't bad, just wasn't my favorite.
