Hand and Stone

The space that Hand & Stone have in Mayfair is quite large with a lot of rooms. I was the only on having a service at 10 am yesterday morning and I was put in a small room with no hook to even hang my clothes on. There also was no mirror in the room to comb my hair after the appointment. If this was a peek busy time I may understand but seeing there was not another person having a service Thought it was poor planning

Overall, the facial was great. However, the only thing that really was an issue was that when booking the appointment, I booked the teen facial. However, the confirmation text said it was the classic facial, which is what the esthetician did.

Every time I go I have a different person. There doesnt appear to be any longetivity with any of the therapists.

Receptionist should call the customer by their name! People love to hear their name! What was included in my facial was not discussed with me. I was satisfied, but not completed. I didn't feel like my facial skin was really scrub (exfoliated).

I tried to book online since it gave me points towards my membership but the website was not working properly so I had to call instead.

I replied to an online 'special' to book an appt. When I checked out I had to 'argue' about the cost; it was modified to meet the 'special as advertised', partly. It was also advertised to include a product that the receptionist made an excuse as to why I would not receive it. Also, when asked if I would sign up the monthly 'service' I declined and the desk person petulantly inquired "Why Not"!

The therapist was not very friendly; she seemed sad or not really into being there. Her massage was great though, but I did find out afterwards that she had already quit and was I guess just finishing up her last days there. Also, before the session started, I asked to please turn off the heating pad (as I know now they already have it on, and I am hot natured). She turned it off, but I was still baking for the entire massage. Not sure why - if it wasn't completely off, or if it had been on too long before the massage started. Finally, the relaxing spa music is important to me for the ambiance and relaxation/meditation part of a massage - however, I could not hear the music during this massage. That was disappointing.

The staff was amazingly friendly . I felt the massage and facial could have been a little better. It’ was good but not the best I’ve had.
