I love the Long Center! Except, dear god, for the parking. There is no free parking, and the garage is always a mess. Last night was a little weird because it was a dress rehearsal instead of a performance. It was a very small crowd, so the garage was manageable (but still a mess), and the ushers seemed more irritable than usual. The house lights were never dimmed all the way, and there were a lot of moments of the orchestra working through pieces and talking, but the ushers were still demanding that people not text on their phones?? They were actually kind of rude about it, too. They never spoke to me, but I noticed it with several people around me. I thought it was weird and rude.
