La Quinta Inn & Suites Kansas City Airport

Normally, I'm not charged for the hotel until we leave, so I was a little disappointed to see they took the total out right when we checked in. The hotel had been recently remodeled and was very modern. The only issues we had were minor. The hallway on our floor (3rd) smelled like cigarette smoke. The bathroom door didn't open all the way because it hit the toilet, so you couldn't step all the way in and shut the door. The shower was also remodeled but there was a small hole in the wall between the tub and wall liner and it looked moldy. Other than that the stay was great. The room was clean, the staff were fabulous and friendly. The breakfast was well stocked each time (I took the kids down at separate times).
