After I left, I had some indigestion, making me think the mushroom sauce was too fatty. Maybe I should have known.

Food (from line) was lukewarm - acceptable for quiche but soup should be hotter. Also, my dining partner ordered mushroom soup but was served tomato soup. Otherwise it was a good experience.

The cashier did not know how to use my $2 off reward on my app. She was not trained on how the app worked. She had to go get someone to help her, etc. which is not ideal when you're in a hurry and you specifically decided to go to La Madeleine for a quick meal.

The entrees were very good. The ambience was also good. In the past we’ve dined here because we really like the pastries. We ordered a strawberry Napoleon that was well below the standard we’re used to seeing here. The pastry crust was overdone and chewy, lacking in pudding and frosting, overall effect was dry and not very tasteful.

Part of the problem was that the group of 4 women in front of us could not make up their mind on what they wanted and kept asking all sort of questions. But staff was a little disorganized. When they have me my bowl of french onion soup I had to remind them that they had neglected to top it with gruyere cheese and the toasted round. My spinach+strawberry+bacon salad was more reminiscent of the Mexican 7-layer dip: spinach tossed in some kind of dressing lacking in flavor followed by clumps of grated cheese followed by strawberries (almost unripe - but I know it's not the season) and bacon - no tossing of the ingredients together. Lastly, the turkey+brie sandwich took a bit long to come out.

The restaurant was understaffed . And out of bread slices with meal purchase.

I wanted to get a two small salads and I was told I had to get three salads not just two. I only wanted two items. I don’t care if I have to pay for them both just don’t eat a lot and don’t want the waste food. So not happy was not able to get what I wanted today and the flavor of the quiche was not good today.
