Hand and Stone

I’ve been to this location 3 times for 4 services. Three were nice borderline mediocre and one was phenomenal. I just don’t think only 1 in 4 services is worth a membership with Hand and Stone.

Booked a hot stone massage. When I arrived, I was told I could not have a hot stone because of an issue the therapist was having and the person who scheduled was new.

Overall everything was fine. The receptionist was a bit loud and a bit aloof. He was pleasant but I didn’t feel like he was very genuine-he laughed everything which I believe to be more of a nervous laugh so I hope it would improve with time. My massage therapist was good. Only complaint with him was he was done early and asked what areas I wanted him to go back over. This was the first time I have ever had this happen and it was awkward. Not having any areas he just rubbed my head and chest. Would rather he took longer in general than this type of ending.

The receptionist would pretty much argue with me that I wasn't at that location. I have been to that location. My appointment started 10 minutes late because she wanted me to fill out paperwork and the massage therapist thought it would take a while.

Ambience of message room, therapist’s techniques-painful at times and other times not targeting muscles, up-selling of receptionists

Very satisfied with my facial. However, Received a prenatal massage as well. My therapist did seem to change her pressure despite my request for firmer pressure to a specific problem area. Also didn’t spend more time in that area as requested at beginning of treatment. Also pillows and sheets not as soft as other locations.

Results of facial from products used were not as good as products from previous spas. I would prefer higher end products. Massage was just ok for both of us.

I feel hand & stone is expensive for a chain compared w/ massage green or envy. It seems like every addition is an extra fee, just too much when some things should be included for $59.95 price. They don’t discount for booking multiple appts in month as other places are $10-20 lower on additional monthly sessions. I wanted deep tissue & found out it wasn’t included in $59,95 price, that it was $10 extra. It really isn’t fair as that’s included at other places. I was given firm Swedish which was fine. Some places give 10-30% discounts or value people who come more often. The place is very nice as well as room comfortable & massage therapist was excellent so I would return for those reasons once a month but probably not more. I really need deep tissue sports & really don’t want extra cost plus tip.

I’ve only been to Hand and Stone once so I need to try a few different services before I can decide if it’s Highly Satisfying. I had s great first experience and look forward to my next few appointments.

I requested a particular therapist when I made my appointment and was given someone else upon arrival.
