The service is ok and I say ok because they are still less knowledgeable than the dealerships

Finding an honest mechanic is always difficult. It took a number of searches, but I found one at this Big O in San Leandro!

The employee who was handling the replacement of my tires, let's call him A, was a nice enough guy and appeared to be following procedure (based on the conversation I overheard). However another employee, let's call him B, was not (B did not pull the tires B had sold, thus when employee A went to check to see if tires were in stock and could be sold, they appeared to be in stock). It caused a problem. When A reviewed the paperwork in a que then asked B about this, B admitted that he had sold but not pulled the tires. B told A that A had a problem to fix, but B did not take on any responsibility for causing the problem or try to help solve the problem. B's attitude was, "Yah I did that, that's how I do it, and so what?!" Who wants to work with a person like B? I don't think anyone would. His attitude was cavalier and disrespectful. A was upset, but he held it together. A was an average size guy with a mustache. B was a big heavy guy. I bought tires at Big-O when I lived in Oregon and had a good experience with the service and the product. I moved to San Leandro, which is why I went to Big-O here in San Leandro. The facility in Oregon was fine, it had a few nice displays and the staff was engaged with their work and the clients. In San Leandro there is no effort to display a variety of tires or educate the consumer. The sales and waiting area is worn-out. The experience caused by B's undercutting and smooth talking attitude was unpleasant. A bit of reinvestment of the profit back into the facility and team training for the staff could go a long way, because anything would help, especially in the sales and waiting area. No worries about improving the neighborhood or gentrification here. This establishment has a different, crude, feel than my memory of the establishment in Oregon.

when doing an oil change at big o tires they include cheaking and topping off all fluids which is normally nice but this time Joe put a little bit to much transmission fluid in my vehicle and I believe with it being a classic vehicle it caused the transmission to fail causing costly repairs to be done by a transmission shop.

These are my Go To Guys for all our trucks and cars. All the guys in the shop know tires. They are not just reading off a computer screen. A few of the guys at Big O are bilingual which makes it very easy for some of my employees. A+

my vehicle was misdiagnosed with a sensor issue by Joe and it was actually a seal leak on my front brakes. my vehicle was also misdiagnosed as having no issues with the break booster when in actuality the brake booster is going out and may be defective since I just had it done at big o tires month's ago. The only problem with this shop is they keep having the same disrespectful and ownership opinionated mechanic Joe work on my vehicle who has voiced his dislike for working on my vehicle. the only reason I go or went there to have any work done is because of a program through a church for dv survivors who were at first helping me with necessary repairs for my vehicle at that shop location only. Joe has had to redo several things that he had already done on my vehicle because of his lack of responsibility to getting it right the first time which leaves me having to go back to get the work redone since it was paid for the first time he did it. wasting time and money for the shop in my opinion not just an inconvenience to me the paying customer.

I purchased 5 new tires n 2015 and Alignment at W MacArthur Store 2 tires r worn out on the inside. I'm angry! I have to drop car off for hours. Get a ride to and from work. Only have 10k miles on tires. 2 r new and 2 r ruined. Not sure of the headache I'll go thru with the store. This should be free! No confidence!!!

This is a terrible place, I waited 30 minutes for three people to talk on the phone and not pay attention to what the customer is worth, When I said, that I have a nail in the wheel when I heard that I need to wait 3 hours. I moved across the street and fixed in 3 minutes.
