It's on my way to and from my work so its very convenient for me to stop and get a drink or cigarettes or a snack or lighter either before or after work. And it's also convenient because I almost always use Murphy for fuel for my car. The attendees are ALWAYS, ALWAYS very polite and say hello and ask how you are doing as soon as it is your turn at the counter. Also, 9 out of 10 times, they try to get you to purchase additional items (2 for one candy or a lighter to go with the cigs). Coming from the service/sales industry, I understand how important up-selling is to a business and how much more money you can make just by simply suggesting an item. Power of suggestion. Even though I may not always purchase what they recommend, sometimes I do and it even helps out when I forget I need a lighter or something and they offer it to you at checkout. Some of them know me when I come up and they already know what I want. They don't know my name (simply because I have never told them) but the ones I have checked out with before definitely recognize me now. You have some EXCEPTIONAL employees at Murphys in Pass Christian, MS.
