I needed to put $10 on the pump. However I only had $5 in cash, and only $6.18 on my debit card. The attendant assisted by allowing me to swipe my debit card to cover $5 of the amount and suggested that if I wanted to hand her the $5 I had in cash then I could pump the first amount and then after placing the nozzle back she could put on the cash amount. I was then able to put the needed amount of money on the pump.
