Always difficult getting in and out do to traffic, no washer squeegee in window washer fluid by pump.

After looking at my receipt, the amount of fuel shown purchased said 5.556 gal at a total cost of $12.50. That would be a price of $2.25 per gal not $2.249! At the price of $2.249 per gal I should have received 5.558 gallons of fuel. So how is the amount of fuel delivered actually determined? If it is measured, how accurate is the pump measurement required to be? After looking at several purchases it seems the error is always in favor of the supplier not the buyer. Of course the error is more consequential as the price of the fuel increases?
