It doesn't matter if I am closer to another gas station or not, I go out of my way to fuel up at Murphy USA. Besides the fact that Murphy USA has gas that is usually at least 3 cents less than anywhere else, they also have root beer and they've got SlimJims. You can't ask for anything else.

Smooth transaction. Lowest priced gas in the immediate area and easy access to the station. Attendant was friendly, although admittedly I don't often go inside for any additional items. I also happen to like the Gas Additive feature for my car.
