Murphy USA

The pump closest to the Murphy store had a problem with the card reader the previous time I visited this station and I was shocked to find out that the same pump card reader was still down today. Why hasn't this been fixed ? A sign on the pump indicates you have to pay the cashier inside. It's been like that for over a week now. I'm also not happy with Murphy no longer allowing a discount at the pump when paying with my Walmart Discover card. The discount applied to my monthly statement is LESS than the discount I used to get that was applied to my purchase at the pump. I'm strongly considering taking my business elsewhere.

I selected Regular grade gasoline from the left of the three available selection pushbuttons. Price displayed after selection was $1.749 as advertised. When the receipt printed out, it showed that I had been charged for unleadedPlus at a rate of $.20 per gallon higher ($1.949). This, even though I distinctly remember the selection window displaying $1.749 per gallon. When I brought the overcharge to the attention of the attendant, she shrugged and insinuated that I had inadvertently made the wrong selection even though I told her that I was absolutely certain that I had selected regular grade and the window displayed my selection cost as $1.749 per gallon.

I chose regular for $1.97 and that's what it showed when I started pumping gas. When I finished, it show the medium-grade gas and the price I was charged was $2.12! WHY? That's wrong!
