card reader was damaged. Seeing that makes me extra cautious about using a credit card because of scammers/skimmers

I tried to use the "pay with rollback code" for a second time. I was told I could only use one code one time. The form says "only one redemption per visit per day". This led me to believe the code could be ised more than once.

Not able to tell the first pump I chose could not read credit or debit cards. Just a small sign across the reader instead of obvious DO NOT USE signage
