All items were placed on the counter at the same time. But she put two transactions on my card.

For some reason half the pumps were blocked off and was mass confusion trying to get to a pump. Never had experienced this before and do not know why.

The cashier was not familiar with cigarette & cigar products, so it took far longer for me to explain what I wanted & for him to find than it should have. There was also a long line that I stood in for about 5 minutes before he opened his register. Then, he stopped helping customers to answer the phone & carry on a conversation that seemed personal, not work related. I visit this store daily & have never had problems before today.

I pulled up to pump and scanned my credit card. The card reader did not change states. Employee was outside wiping down equipment and structures. I told her the card reader was not working. She said none of them were working. I told her it would be nice if they posted something to let customers know. I then went inside and told the attendant I wanted to fill-up. She took my credit card. I thought she was going to scan it. Instead, she kept it. I asked her if she was going to keep it and she said, “Yes”. I was not real happy about having to leave a credit card with an attendant with numerous people around and out of my possession. This is a dangerous situation, and an unacceptable way of doing business. Murphy Express needs to come up with a process to let customers know when pump card readers are not functioning. They also need to develop another process to allow customers to still use credit cards when pump card readers are not functioning without having to leave their credit cards in the possession of the attendant.

I use a Murphy USA Visa card to pay for my fuel at the pump. On the last several visits, I’ve had the receipt to print out at the pump maybe twice. The other times, I have to go inside to retrieve my receipt. If the printers are not going to work, you need to remove them and allow customers the choice of having one’s receipt electronically e-mailed to them, or to go inside to get their receipt. With today’s technology, this should be a viable option anyway. If Murphy is not going to maintain the printers, they need to give customers an additional discount or some type of compensation for their trouble. The purpose of the printers is for those paying at the pump to NOT have to go inside. I have had employees tell me ‘Sorry for the Inconvenience’ but that doesn’t fix the problem.
