Attendant would not allow me to pay a certain portion of my fuel on debit card and the other portion in cash

When we brought to the attention of the attendant that the card reader wasn't operating properly when inserting a card, the response was that sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I suggested that a sign be posted, she just smiled and I walked away.
