la Madeleine

Most of my experiences at LaMadeleine's restaurants have been pleasant, and I have gone to many within 30 miles in Houston. This time the person at the cash register was not friendly at all, never even looked at me and my guest. That was unusual. Overall the there was not a welcome feeling in this particular LM's. Not totally indifferent, but not welcoming.

The food portions are smaller now.

It was decent, just not necessarily my cup of tea. The food was decent, especially for lunch food. I just feel like there could’ve been a little more flavor.

Among the items I ordered was "three lemon madeleines". The receipt shows "Lemon Madeleine bag $4.89". When I got home with the order, we found ONE madeleine in a paper sleeve. Obviously, whoever pulled the order, either did not read correctly, or misunderstood, but either way, we were short two madeleines.

The custard of the lemon tart was not crunchy. Freshness is very important for the satisfaction of a customer.

Maybe I am being picky but the tabletops were a little dirty. But overall the service was excellent and the food delicious.

Portion sizes seem to have decreased and prices have increased. This is bad. This is very bad. Yep. Thanks. And they need to sweep more.
