Dreams - Harlow

Manager Michael was very knowledgeable about Tempur mattresses and helpful in explaining the different firmnesses, including pillows. He helped us select a suitable base, mattress, cover & pillows. The sale price was good, better than John Lewis and we were able to agree a further discount. There is room for improvement in signage as we couldn't find the store from the road and had to phone to ask for directions, despite the building being adjacent to Edinburgh way and having a sign advertising another company facing the road. Customer toilets should be provided as I needed the toilet during our visit (over a hour there). I was able to use the staff ladies toilet, which was rather basic and had no hand towels or hot air hand drier. This did not leave a good impression about facilities for staff. Finally there should be an area for young children to sit and play or read/draw. There was a family with three young children selecting a bed during our visit. The parents were paying scant attention to the children who were bored and running riot, screaming and climbing on the furniture. The screaming almost led to my husband and I leaving the store as it was piercing at times.

Mike Dean served my husband and I and explained what the different colour pillow cases indicated. Told us to try the beds in every sleeping position to see if it would suit us. Great guy. Delivery on the Friday was also good, took our old mattress away. Mike had already told us about the recycling of the old ones.

The assistant who attended to us was informative, knowledgeable, and above all very professional. My wife and I both commented on the attention we were given. All too often you walk into a shop whereupon you are "attacked" by the staff and immediately feel under pressure. This was certainly not the case here. We were allowed to wander around at our leisure with staff on hand if and when required. We were recommended to Dreams, and I will passing on that recommendation to friends and family.

The salesman was very courteous and helpful and I was able to try out a number of mattresses in order to be certain of my choice.

I went into the store knowing exactly what type of bed I wanted to purchase. I was met by a very friendly assistant who took me straight to the bed she thought would be suitable. When it wasn't quite right she then showed me a 2nd bed which was perfect. I was so pleased I actually bought a 2nd divan for another room. Had I not bought a new mattress for this divan (from Dreams) about 2 years ago I would have bought the whole bed. I was offered a range of delivery dates and chose a date that was most suitable to me and was very pleased when I was told that for a small charge my old divan would be taken away. I was given a green wrapper to be used for this purpose. The assistant went through the invoice with me explaining all the important bits and even emailed a copy of it to my email address. The whole visit took no longer 10 minutes from start to finish. All in all a very satisfactory visit. Thank you. Debbie Page

Harlow branch left you alone to look for as long as you wanted without being pestered or pressurised into buying but were there to answer any questions you may have.
