Pump asks to many questions when processing credit card

I love BP, but the pumps are ALWAYS either out of order or give me a hard time when I am trying to purchase gas. 2 visits in 3 days and both resulted in the pumps freezing up and having to explain to the clerk and wait longer than necessary in the cold. Needless to say I'm not pleased
