Restaurant didn't have many customers but service was slow and when our food came to have more coffee never came till I was standing up to leave. The servers were cleaning up as they wasnt customers and didn't take care of the few there .

The steak was supposed to be medium and it was well done, eggs were a little runny

It was very cold and we were seated close to the door, giving us a cold blast every time someone came in or left. Also, there was a lot of employee banter, making us causing a delay in getting us seated.

The server was nice but she was slow and she had difficulty answering questions about the menu.

There were 3 other groups besides us & the restaurant was almost completely empty, so I wondered why we had to wait so long to be seated. The other 2 groups (mother/father/small child & elderly couple), were seated within a few minutes of our arrival, then we actually had to wait for 10 more minutes. Standing there, at least 3 staffers noticed & commented or nodded at us, we saw at least 4 staffers moving around with other customers needs, but no one seemed to be making an effort to seat us. Twice my daughter asked if maybe we shouldn't go somewhere else & I said no, a few more minutes. Just as I was thinking we should leave, a waitress came & seated us. She was properly attentive during our meal, no complaints there. We did notice an elderly waitress who came in later during our meal who was overly attentive, which kind of bothered me, as the other waitress was doing a fine job. The older gal kept coming over & asking if we were okay, as if our original waitress wasn't doing her share. I don't know why, but it seemed intrusive in the long term.

My prime rib was barley warm. Did not send it back, just ate it. It was very good and the food was all very good. Just the meat was room temp.

I guess it is becoming brand standard that a meal is not served as the industry standard has taught the consumer it should be. I get excuses that "we had large tables" or "we are understaffed" which if this is the case then maybe we should not take orders from NEW customers as they expect to get the same service as the larger tables/groups. IF the servers worried more about the customer satisfaction than whether their order was in the pass through then the customer might become the focus of the business again. I do understand HOT food does take precedence, when it is in the window, BUT to stand there for 15 minutes, doing nothing except compare the plates to the order screen and run them to the tables seems a little out of line. The fact that my entree arrived shortly after I received my improperly prepared Spinach Salad is just further example why Shari's has lost my business, my local store served me entree, salad, and appetizer in that order and would usually be a 3 hour visit if I wanted to get the 5 courses (salad, soup, appetizer, entree, desert) in proper sequence. Did not realize traveling 50 miles would not make a difference.
