Compared to massage facilities I have been to in the best, I would have to say the appearance and ambience was 100%, however the quality of my massage did not compare to other facilities. The massage therapist was very good, polite but I wasn't to sure of her stroke techniques. It was unclear if she was new and nervous or just inexperienced.

There are too few massage therapist available in the afternoons. To book an appointment one needs to look at least a week in advance and if one has a particular masseuse in mind, one has to book a month in advance.

I am from NC and live in CA (where I initiated my membership) with a goal of using my pre-paid services between the two locations and this was the first time I was using in NC. When I made my appointment, it seemed that my informaton was readily available but at check out there was trouble using the credits I had. At one point during it check out, it almost seemed I was going to be asked to pay even though I know I had 4 credits. I am not sure exactly how long it took but I would say 10-15 minutes before this was resolved; I was not upset because I was pretty relaxed after my services but my eyebrows were up with wonder. Lastly, I think Hand & Stone expects those of us that have pre-paid $50 for our services to tip at their regular price of $99 because they have way too many displays of tipping prices at 20% of their regular price. I am hoping this is there for those who may not be pre-paid members but to expect those of use that are pre-paid to tip the same is not cool which is why I usually bring cash because it kinda puts one on the spot to tell them to add 20% of the pre-paid cost as opposed to the regular price; stop expecting this of us.

Waiting area is kind of cold and no ambience. Did have to wait but not horribly long. I did not ask questions but products were not explained to me as they were applied. Overall satisfied just not highly satisfied.

I think they did a fine job. To be highly satisfied you would have to bring me champagne and chocolate!

Poor experience with massage therapist. Out of the many massages that I've had in my life, this one was the most dissatisfying. I left the room feeling like I didn't have a full massage. Therapist barely touched my feet and hands and focused too much on spots that hardly have muscle. My facial afterward was much more relaxing and soothing than the massage.

I was not sure what type of massage I wanted and the receptionist said "let's go with a regular massage", but when I checked out she charged me for a deep tissue massage, stating that's the only type that therapist did. I had never had a deep tissue massage, so I had no idea that is what I was getting. Also, she should have told me that there was a different charge for deep tissue as I would have automatically stated I wanted a regular massage. It appeared to me afterwards that the reason she charged me for the deep tissue was because there were only two therapists working at that time and the other one already had a client for a regular massage. Just feel like I was misled and taken advantage of because I was naïve.
