I had a gift card for a 1 hour massage. When I went to use it and I upgraded to a hour and a half, I thought I would be paying the difference in price between the hour and hour and a half. I was informed that they would only give me a credit of $49.95 instead of honoring the 1 hour massage. I ended up spending $80 plus tip out of pocket. When I purchased the gift cards I was told they were for one hour massages, not specific monetary values.

I come to Hand & Stone on a very regular basis, and am always treated well. My appointments usually start on time, but my most recent appointment started about 10 mins late.

There seems to have been a change in this particular H & S. The receptionists are so busy trying to sell people on booking their next appt before they leave for more points, etc., that there's a substantial line that forms. My previous appt was a facial and the therapist tried to sell me add'l services. I just want to relax, not rebuff sales attempts. My massage started at 10 after and ended at 5 til. I signed up for hot stone, but did not get it. I thought I had forgotten to specify that so I didn't say anything to the therapist. When the receptionist charged me for a hot stone massage, I told her that I did not get it. She questioned me a couple of times about it and kept saying "I told her". I told her the massage was fine (one of the best I've received lately), but I just didn't get the hot stones. She then said she couldn't change the bill until she confirmed it with the therapist later. The atmosphere has changed.

I did not find the cost of the services to meet the experience- i could have paid the same amount and gone to a spa and had additional amenities available to enjoy.
