Contrary to other massage experiences, going to Hand & Stone is always relaxing. You know what to expect since the excellent welcome by the reception employees to the professional massage therapists that make the entire experience pleasant and enjoyable. My only suggestion is to add more services geared towards men as other spas. Such as sports pedicure and half day packages including meals

Friendly, no pressure

Therapist Douglas Stephens was fabulous. He is very knowledgeable, accommodating and respectful. He let me be quiet when I wanted to be and addressed questions knowledgeably and in a tone conducive to relaxation. He checked in with me from time to time to ensure that I was comfortable and receiving the type of massage I had requested. I have been searching for two years for a therapist who understands and executes the technique for myofascial release since my chiropractor who used to do this type of massage moved away. It was so refreshing to find a therapist who understands the method AND is able to deliver the release through massage. As a fitness instructor I tend to get very tight despite stretching so this type of massage therapy is quite freeing. The one thing that would improve the overall experience is having a quieter, more Zen-like atmosphere in the reception area.
