Hand and Stone

I feel like when I come for facials the face should be massaged like when I have had facials at other places. It is rare that this happens at Hand and stone. It isn't just this location as I have tried 2 other Hand and stones. The other thing when I come for massages it's like all they do is rub lotion on you. To me that is not a massage.

The massage therapist accommodated my sore hip. She worked on it. It feels much better.

She asked if I wanted the detox and I said sure not knowing that it was an extra cost. They still charged me, even though I did not mark that I want extras on the paper beforehand and they did not say this would be extra.

Mistake made in phone res with cc#, but reception polite on call back to correct. Best to have separate forms for types of services, wading through facial or other service questions delayed start of service. Winter clothing and accessories make changing in room difficult and dont allow for hanging everything up.

Overall I was satisfied with everything. A couple areas of improvement: remember to lower the table after massage;in reception the chairs are too far away from the coffee table so it's not comfortable to use For a water cup or other; reception was not able to clearly or satisfactorily explain the membership program in both locations I've visited you use company jargon rather than simple terms a customer can understand clearly.

Massage was only ok. Facial was excellent but there weren't any questions so far on that. Also, I received a voicemail after I'd left saying I wasn't charged for the facial upgrade and would I like them to use my points or charge my card. If you forget to charge me, thats on you. It was not made clear that I would be charged more in the first place. The service providers need to be clearer about additional charges.

I had to wait longer than usual, as a previous client was running late. Also, the music system was not working.

Services were ok. Massage was good!! Facial was adequate. I have had MUCH better. I felt the extras were a waste of money. The "foot massage" for extra money was 2 minutes or less of putting an aromatic scrub on my feet. The peppermint head massage was a joke. Other than that, the ambiance was very nice. Staff friendly. Facility clean. Not worth the 200.00 I spent. But it was an acceptable experience.

I have never had a facial before. I suggest the receptionist ask if everyone has or has not had a previous facial . Let the customer know she will need to gave no makeup on - or it will be removed. My person was very gentle about removing it but I just prefer to remove it myself or not have much on before the facial. Not a criticism just a preference. I also think $49.99 a month is a better price point to sign people up for a program. Too many add ons gets confusing. And expensive
